This news may be a tad late but it needs some reporting when I read how my sister gushed over this band’s reunion in her blog. For those who are in their late 20′s you may have heard of New Kids on the Block. My boss claims that she knows all the words to their songs and their concert was the first concert she has ever been to and was so upset (traumatic, to quote her) that time when she wasn’t able to get a concert t-shirt. My sister is a big fan too – she has the cassette tapes, the bedsheet, pillowsheet and blankets, poster book, “song hits” book with their faces on it….well you get the drift.
In April 2008, the group launched their comeback. They produced a new single titled “Summertime”. It created a lot of buzz and media attention and I admit, I was also curious. When I saw and heard their music video, in my honest opinion, I thought it was a big joke! My coworker agreed with me too.
The guys in NKOTB are 2 decades older….meaning they’re in their late 30′s or early 40′s. And they reintroduced themselves to the public with Summertime. Seriously? Seriously? Seriously? The song doesn’t do them justice. It’s juvenile – they’re not teenagers anymore. Furthermore, one thing that comes to mind when I watch the video: perverted old geezers! Seriously! Seriously! Seriously!

So after that single not much attention was paid to them. I haven’t heard from them ever since. In conclusion I guessed everyone agreed it was really a bad judgement to come out like that. *tsk tsk tsk*

You obviously didn’t hear that their new CD, The Block, placed #1 in Pop Sales in the US for the first week on sale and #2 overall. In Canada, the CD was #1 in overall sales. So, yes, people are still listening.
They released Summertime first for the original fans to remind them of the old days. The rest of the CD has a more contemporary feel. You should check it out.

Hum, actually a lot of people are more than interested and have cared A LOT since the rumor started in January. Their concerts are mostly sold out and their new CD debuted at #2 in the US and #1 in Canada. The new video for Single is more grown up. They said that Summertime was for the fans and the menories we all, as well as them, have!

Um…their new album the Block debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts this week, and it’s the #1 Pop Album. They have a new song called Single…the video is already on VH1′s top 20.
I think you should check it out before you make a statement that they are gone already.
The rest of the album is NOTHING like Summertime, btw.

Okay…sorry NKTOB fans I have spoken too soon and should have done more research. But their Summertime video just turned me off. Well I hope NKTOB will continue to do great.
