Dancing With The Stars

I love watching DWTS. It’s so entertaining. They got Bruno Tonioli with his out-of-this-world metaphors, Tom Bergeron’s dry wit, DWTS Kids edition, celebrity performers, DWTS ESPNcenter style…The best season I think was the match between Mel B. and Helio. There were lots of celebrities there who really improved with ballroom dancing. This season however it seems no celebrity stood out with their dancing skill (remember Kristi Yamaguchi and Sabrina Bryan?)…or maybe I’m just saying this because it’s only the first episode. But it was really surprising that many couples receive low scores, Rocco diSpirito being one of them (waah!!! I want Rocco to stay!)

My predictions for now: those who would stay longer: Brooke Burke, Lance Bass, Toni Braxton, Warren Sapp; those who are in the middle: Kim Kardashian, Misty May Treanor, Cody Linley, Ted McGinley, Maurice Green; and at the bottom are: Cloris Leachman, Susan Lucci, Jeff Ross, Rocco Dispirito.These are based on judges’ score and my personal judgement of their appeal, dancing skills and charm.I feel sorry for the pro dancers who get paired up with a not-so-good-dancer celebrity. I wonder if the pro-dancers congregate secretly…what do they say about their pairings????? any spy videos, ABC?

Few interesting people to watch out are the newest dancers who join DWTS: Lacey Schwimmer and Corky Ballas. Lacey Schwimmer is not your usual pro-dancer. She’s edgy and has rock/punk-type of dance and she’s really contemporary with her dance which is a no-no for Len Goodman but appealing for my generation. Corky Ballas because he’s Mark Ballas’s father, I wonder who’s a better dancer? I’m also glad that Maksim is back. I missed him in the last season.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to watch the whole season…I’ll be out of town at the latter episodes (sigh~). But for now every mondays and tuesdays, my evenings are reserved for DWTS!
