I totally loved the finale of project runway, any season! I loved to watch all those collection of each designer come to life in the runway. This season they got 3 females as top finalists and each has its own point-of-view. Korto’s collection was inspired from earth and her African background. It was gorgeous and elegant but for me not that unique. Kenley’s collection had a theme of “alice in wonderland” with handpaintings on dresses and 50′s kind of silhouettes. Although she executed her collection perfectly, the judges commented her design tended to imitate a famous designer’s collection. Which I agreed. Leanne’s collection was inspired by ocean and waves. She’s got wave patterns and pleatings in all her clothes and colors ran along light blue, white and beige. For me it was too monotonous but very creative and very intellectual that borders robotic (I didn’t love the shoes she paired up with her clothes).

Unfortunately this season their guest judge (Jennifer Lopez) excused herself from the contest with a lame “foot injury” reason. So Tim Gunn substituted at the last minute. If I were the judge, I wished Korto won because she had the most wearable, elegant, and appealing collection. But the judge voted on Leanne. They all agreed she had a wonderful, unique, innovative, and very “Leanne’s” collection. Boohoo for Korto and Kenley. Why won’t these kind of contests have prizes for the runner-ups?
