It’s been more than 1 and half years since I have tasted my most favorite raisin bread from Hizon’s. Hizon’s is a bakery located in Malate. They also have a stall in Landmark, Makati. I know that prices of food are inflated right now but it was still a shock to find that the bread cost P105! It used to be P60 and then turned P80, now it’s P105. That’s too expensive for a non-working student like me.
I’m a bread-loving girl. I can eat a loaf of this raisin bread in 1 sitting. I was already anticipating to eat the slices of this bread as my school lunch. I remember back then when I put Purefood’s Corned Beef in between 2 slices. Yumyum (drool). Hizon’s raisin bread is really gourmet – it’s fluffy, flaky, soft, light and sweet. I don’t toast it – never tried it because I just love the texture of the bread as is. I actually don’t put any spread to it because it’s that tasty!
So I ended up just buying Gardenia bread – Chocolate Chip flavor. I love this bread too. If I can eat this in one sitting, I would. Love the extra chocolate taste to the bread. I know it’s not nutritious but it’s satisfying, that’s what counts! However next time I’m going to splurge and treat myself to Hizon’s raisin bread.
If you’re still looking for that delicious raisin bread, try Hizon’s.
