For our post-christmas party, my group of friends decided to spend it at Red Box, Greenbelt Makati. Our group loves to sing! Everytime we go out together, we always end up in a karaoke bar if not in a swimming villa.

We haven’t tried Red Box yet. Red Box Greenbelt has an ongoing lunch promo special: eat-all-you-can lunch with drinks and room use for only P299/person and that’s from 12nn-3pm. It’s not the happiest time to be out partying but if it can save us a lot, we’ll take it!

So at exactly 12nn we went inside red box. On a daytime, the exterior of the place looks clean but unkempt. The interior however is clean and very stylish. After we registered in the reception area we headed straight to our room. For 8 people, the room they gave us is too small. A little bit more of space would have helped a lot. We ended up squeezing and taking turns eating because, we all can’t eat on the small table they provided us. It’s a good thing we’re all sexy that we didn’t mind sitting elbow to elbow. The room is not remarkable – it looks the same with the other karaoke places we’ve been to but as I’ve said their room is much smaller.

The food is really good. The choices aren’t many but it’s still delicious. They also refill iced teas regularly because they make rounds in each room. Take note that the buffet table closes at 2pm and the iced tea refill stops at 245pm. The service is good – the people are very helpful and courteous.

The karaoke TV machine was kind of easy to use. They have latest songs and we enjoyed singing them. They only provided 2 microphones which is the norm. There was one time that the computer crashed and all the saved songs we had were erased. So it was a hassle to find the songs again. Later we find out that our room is not well sound-proofed. Our room is located beside the powder room and we can hear our friends singing while we’re refreshing ourselves. That’s why anyone who took a piss and passes by our door looks into the glass door because they apparently have heard our funny singing antics.

If you’re looking for a fun karaoke time – Red Box fits the bill especially with their lunch hour special promo, it can save you a lot. But for other times, it could be a little bit pricey. Go in small groups (5-7) or really big groups (15 and above) to enjoy your room very well.

Happy karaokeing!
