Just recently I was alarmed when my itouch won’t sync properly with itunes. I have downloaded a lot of free apps and I’m excited to try them on my itouch. When it happened the first time, I didn’t mind it. I thought it was only our PC’s usb port that was making the problem. But after connecting it to another port, it still won’t sync. My itouch won’t show the recharge icon and then it would suddenly restart (the apple icon will appear). I tried clicking on the “restore” function on itunes and it said that it couldn’t read my itouch. NOOOO!!! Is this payback against me for the time being not too happy about my itouch when I first got it?

I came up with a lot of theories – I thought my usb cable was the culprit. I also thought my itouch syncing was damaged when I charged it with a unoriginal or generic ipod travel charger. I went to apple’s website for troubleshooting and the only answer they provided was that I should reinstall my itunes. So I removed my itunes software and reinstall it again. I tried syncing my ipod and still it won’t sync. I borrowed my brother’s usb cable to sync my ipod. It had the same problem. So my cable is still ok. Then I asked my brother to sync it in his PC. He said it was syncing. That was a relief – it meant that my itouch is ok.

The next thing I did I totally removed ALL itunes and its folders from our PC. Then I downloaded the latest version in the apple website. Crossing my fingers, I connected my ipod to the PC. It synced! Phew! Thank God! Now I’m back to business. :)
