I went to Mall of Asia yesterday to watch a wall-climbing tournament with my cousins. Among our conversations was the highly rated movie, You Changed My Life, which is a sequel of the movie A Very Special Love. Both movies are starred by Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz.

A brief history and synopsis: In the movie A Very Special Love, Laida Magtalas (Geronimo) had a serious crush on Miggy Montenegro (Cruz) and dreams of being his girlfriend. She landed a job on the magazine company headed by Cruz. There she discovered that prince charming was not charming at all. But in the end, Miggy realized that he loves Laida and successful won her heart again. The sequel, You Changed My Life, continued the love story of Laida and Miggy. They enjoyed the sweetness of being a couple until work problems, third-party character, long-distance relationship entered into the picture. Their love is tested and they begin to realize the hardship of maintaining the relationship. Will they break up or make it work? Well you have to watch the movie to find out.

This is the cheesiest movie I’ve ever watched. But still I loved it! I loved the tandem and chemistry of Geronimo and Cruz. I love Sarah’s acting because she’s so funny and bubbly. In the first movie, it was all Sarah’s acting that make the movie so funny but in the second movie, John Lloyd matched Sarah’s antics perfectly without being too overacting. They really make a great on-screen couple. The dialogues are all witty, cheesy, and funny. It totally suited Sarah Geronimo. However sometimes I just cringe when I see Sarah overacting the sweetness factor.  The other characters complemented the main actors well and they made the movie more well-rounded and more cohesive. Although the story is very shallow, it still made great movie entertainment. If there’s a next sequel, I’ll definitely be lining up to watch! :)

For this movie, I give it 4 out of 5.

Some of their cheesy lines:

…Magaling ka pala sa puzzle …kasi morning pa lang nabuo mo na araw ko

…I want to be V… so I can be next to U

…I think you’re an A …because you’re not meant to B

…Powerhug!
