I went to China last week to visit my sister and tour Shanghai and Beijing. Of all the airlines Cebu Pacific Air had the cheapest fare at roughly 14k PHP/pax. I wanted to go to Beijing directly but the airline only stops at Shanghai. So my sister decided to meet us in Shanghai and tour the city too.

Our plane was the Airbus series. It was really small compared to the other international airplanes found on the hangar. At such a cheap price, you will get to your destination without any frills at all. They don’t serve free drinks or even water! The flight was 3 hours and they don’t serve water?!! We know how riding a plane is dehydrating to body so at least serve us water!!! They don’t serve any free snacks. Drinks are sold from 50-150PHP. Little snacks cost 50PHP and the more “upscale” snacks at 100PHP. I don’t know if this is the norm for most planes nowadays due to the recession.

The flight attendants were not welcoming. Their outfit is ghastly. An orange polo shirt tucked in a khaki A-line skirt? It’s not professional looking.  They were also snooty. I kindly requested for a pillow because my lower back was hurting and the steward haughtily replied that they don’t have pillows. Shouldn’t the plane allow for things like pillows and blankets? The plane also doesn’t have an entertainment service which was ok but so depressing when it’s a 3 hour ride and you’re stuck with snooty attendants.

Although their flight was on time, their departure time in the middle of the night was not a good idea. It makes for a crankier and tired customer. So will I fly cebu pacific air international next time?  Not again or maybe only when I’m really short-budgeted.

“It’s time everyone flies Cebu Pacific Air”?… I don’t think so.
