A lot of things happening in this long weekend: Feb 13-15. For me my long weekend started yesterday on the 12th since my office is close every friday. I have 4 days to do what I want to do. Unfortunately I couldn’t think of something. Lake Tahoe would be a nice getaway.
Anyway if you don’t know what’s happening this weekend:
1. Valentine’s day – things to do:
a. catch a movie – perhaps Valentine’s Day or Dear John?
b. eat a nice dinner – if you can reserve one. I bet restaurants will be full.
c. think of a novelty date – hot air balloon ride, skydiving, bungee jumping
2. Chinese New Year – coincides with Valentine’s Day. Fun things to do:
a. celebrate by eating chinese food – sticky rice cake is the best and my most favorite dish during Chinese New Year.
b. catch the dragon dance in chinatown.
c. wear chinese traditional dress (“cheong sam”) and parade through chinatown
d. watch fireworks – if you can find one. US is strictly about fireworks display.
3. Winter Olympics 2010 – watch it on TV! This year’s Olympic Game is held at Vancouver, Canada. The opening ceremonies started Feb 12. Games officially begin after. What sport will you watch?
4. President’s Day – what happens during this day? I have no idea but you can hit the shops for some great discounts! Offices are closed but stores are not, go figure.
a. hit the outlet stores – greater discount in outlet stores
b. visit country’s heritage? – Mt. Rushmore, museums, library, monuments are all I can think of.
c. gather a costume party where you dress up as presidents. *wink*
d. buy a car – for some reason, president’s day has the biggest sale on cars.
HAPPY LONG WEEKEND GUYS!
