Clash of the Titans is about men rebelling against the gods. The gods of Olympus created men to worship and praise them. However after years of tyranny of the gods and bitterness of their lot, men decided to oppose their creator. The main protagonist Perseus led a band of out of commissioned soldiers to hunt Hades, who killed his adopted family. Without military training, Perseus was more than qualified to the job because he was the bastard son of Zeus. Perseus hated his demigod blood and he aimed to bring down the gods with only his man strength.

After watching the movie, one word comes to mind…OVERRATED! The story was one-tracked without any twists and turns. The acting was substandard. The movie production was not outstanding. Many of the scenes appeared studio sets which were what it were. The movie just didn’t disguised it really well. It reminded me of a ride in Universal Studios. What distracted me was the haircut of the Sam Worthington (Perseus)…it looked so modern and fresh. He didn’t look embittered or hardened after years of being in the sea, which could take a toll on the skin.

The action part of the movie was good. They were exciting and believable. I wished the movie maintained its excitement throughout the story. Unfortunately the action-sequence was anti-climactic because after each scene it would water down to some drama or soldiers taking a rest. I wished the other characters in the story were more involved but the movie entirely focused on 3 people – Perseus, Zeus, and Hades. Oh, Transformer made a cameo. I also didn’t know if the costumes were spot on. I was confused if this story was Roman or Greek. I knew it was Greek since they used Greek names for the gods but the costumes were a bit misleading.

For this movie, I give it 3 out of 5 stars.
